Commercial Property

The Energy Assessment of Commercial Property has been phased in

* 6th April 2008 - EPCs required for buildings other than dwellings with a floor area over 10,000 sqm

* 1st July 2008 - EPCs required for buildings other than dwellings with a floor area over 2,500 sq m

* 1st October 2008 - EPCs required and Display Certificates (DECs) for public buildings over 1,000 sq m

Commercial EPCs (Non-Domestic)

Commercial EPCs are valid for 10 years unless major modifications to the building have been made and they apply to buildings such as shops, offices and industrial units. Due to the recent introduction and complex nature of commercial EPCs please contact us. We are unable to provide these at present but we may be able to refer you to a commercial surveyor with the appropriate commercial property qualification.

Display Energy Certificates (DECs)

These relate to public buildings and institutions over 1000 sq m and have to be displayed to convey the actual energy usage of buildings over a 3 year period. We are currently unable to assist with the provision of DECs..
